It’s happened… my son is in elementary school. Where has the time gone? I”m getting old. :)

Alex now attends El Marino language school, which means the teacher only speaks to the kids in spanish. He’s not so sure about it right now, but he loves the fact that his best friend, Daniel, is in his class. Oh, and Alex is the tallest Kindergartner. He looks like a 2nd grader! Check out the gallery to see some pics from his first day. I'm here.jpg

Summer

So, even though I have yet to put up the oh-so-promised pics from the kids B-day parties, I did put up pics. from our trip to FL and Maine. Enjoy! _DSC6087.JPG

A*2.jpg Uh, when did this happen? Aaron just turned 1. Alex turned 5 a month ago. eek.

Aaron’s (and Mia’s, too!) party was a success, as was Alex’s. (Yes, I know— where are the pics from Alex’s party? coming soon, I promise!) The balloon guy was ridiculously awesome, the ducky cakes were adorable, and Aaron loved his cake a *little* too much. :) Pictures coming soon!

Only Human

So, Alex and I were having a moment- he was cuddling on my lap (well, trying at least!) and I was telling him how I remember when he was little and I’d rock him to sleep and all he would want me to do is hold his feet. And now, his feet just don’t fit in my hand and he doesn’t fit in my lap. I then told him he has to stop growing, that I freeze him in time with my mom power and he leans in to hug me and says,”That’s how the human body works. I’m going to keep growing.” ah, the wisdom of a 5 year old. alexstairs.jpg

Halloween

Alex had a full day of Halloween. Starting at school, all the kids paraded around the park, then had treats. After school, real trick’r'treating with his friends Daniel, Chloe, Carter and Tawati (sp?). oh, and brother Aaron, too! They got lots and lots of candy. and saw some scary things that made them all run down a hallway. It was very amusing. :) group2.jpg

We’ve carved our pumpkin and Alex is waiting rather patiently for it to be Halloween. He’s been counting down the days for the past 3 weeks and he is beyond excited for tomorrow. He and Aaron tried on their costumes tonight (yes, they match. blame Harry.) and they were all giggles. littlemonstersm.jpg Here’s a preview of Aaron. We’ll have more up tomorrow.

aarondoc6months.jpg Here’s Aaron waiting very patiently for Dr. Ouchi. Yes, Ouchi, tho it’s not pronounced ow-chi (that would be way too funny for a pediatrician!) , but o-chi w/ a long o. He’s 27 1/2 inches long and 17 lbs, which puts him at 75% for height and barely 50% for weight. He’s on his way to being a bean pole. :)

Here’s some of the latest pics. of the boys. I know, it’s been too long since anything new has been put up. I’m just lazy. and tired. :) Tho, I shouldn’t be… Aaron is sleeping through the night (completely!). He’s finally rolling from front to back and his favorite position to sleep in is on his left side. He just discovered the “m” and “b” sounds, so he’s been saying “mamamama” and “bababa”, but the best is “mmmba”. And he doesn’t giggle, just squeals— and it’s really, really loud, and really, really high-pitched. You don’t want your ear too close to his mouth when he lets loose, b/c your ear will be ringing afterwards. bath3.jpg

Alex started his new/old school (long story) and is so incredibly happy there. And he doesn’t come home anymore and say “so-and-so punched me today” or “I got pushed and punched again.” I hated his old school. Now, he comes home and says “I learned about Chinese animals today” or “I was inside a giant bubble and blew little bubbles inside it!” (This actually happened. Mr Bubble came to the school and the kids got to make humongous bubbles)

He’s 15 lbs. and 25 inches. 4 months3.jpg And he loves to smile!

So, we realized that Alex had started on ‘real’ food at 4 months, since he had been having rice cereal in his bottle since 2 months (bad reflux), so we figured it was time for Aaron to at least try rice cereal. eh. wrong. He wanted nothing to do with it. Which is good since the doctor said to hold off at least another month for food. Oh well! angryfeed.jpg
